
IAT Board Member Ceyda Kasım Süer and IAT Member Suna Öztop Sarıoğlu participated the meeting of May 22, 2019 to provide information regarding the activities conducted by the Informatics Association of Turkiye for the Young and Women to contribute to the works of the Sub Commission on Orienting the Young to Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering set up under the Commission of the TGNA on EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN AND MEN. The presentation covered the activities of IAT Women’s Group and IAT-Young, CEPIS’s (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies) activities to encourage the participation and advancement of women and girls in STEM, the main goal of the project on Women Entrepreneurs Engaged in Informatics, and information on how women can turn their knowledge-based capital to commercial gains. Information was provided on how education technologies can meet larger masses in Education within the Light of Information Technologies (BTIE) lifelong learning, and events where education technologies can meet with students, teachers, and people in Ankara within the context of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
