In general, the Working Group aims at taking action towards knowledge and experience sharing and improvement of professional rights, and holding training to ensure more productive and flexible working conditions for women in the information technology sector; developing projects by monitoring the supports and funds for women; and establishing cooperation with the women’s associations. The Group has conducted and continues to conduct several works regarding basic information technology training, safe information technology at home, social media and safe internet use, web page or blog preparation, and computer literacy, etc. Below are the objectives of the Working Group:

• Providing advice to the women information technology specialists regarding the creation of information and experience sharing platforms and improvement of professional rights with a view to assuring that these women attain to more productive and flexible working conditions.
• Accessing and publishing the statistical data of the women working in Turkiye and across the world.
• Encouraging and guiding the undergraduate girls and particularly those with an interest and talent in developing codes to join joint programs conducted with universities.
• Holding training programs regarding information technologies literacy and use for the women who can effectively benefit from information technologies and use the production and services for economic purposes.
• Holding training programs and seminars, etc. for raising awareness in women regarding safe internet use, social media, related risks and problems, as well as the protective measures they can take at home.
• Highlighting the role models and creation of experience and information sharing platforms to raise the number of Women Entrepreneurs with the help of information technology. Türkiye Bilişim Derneği, 1994 yılında Bakanlar Kurulu kararı ile kamu yararına dernekler arasına alınmıştır.
• Following up the supports and funds provided for women engaged in national and international information sector, and developing project and submitting the necessary application.
• Cooperating with the women’s associations engaged in information technology, and supporting the activities to direct women into engaging in the information technology.
• Raising the number of women in the Board of Directors both at headquarters and local representations of the Informatics Association of Turkiye.
• Holding panels on women during the events organized by Informatics Association of Turkiye.

These efforts help women to achieve their true potential with the strength of the information technologies and become involved in social and economic life in all aspects and under their existing conditions.
